Project21A successfully established a 4,000-book library at the Government Primary School in Kurauni, Lucknow, a modest yet lively primary school nestled within a close-knit community. During the inauguration of this initiative, the commissioner of Lucknow, Shri Ranjan Kumar, graced us with his presence. He expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts dedicated to uplifting the community. His endorsement underscores the positive impact of our work and highlights the significance of both individuals and organizations stepping up to support communities in need. Additionally, the principal of Dr. Virendra Swaroop Education Center, Jajmau, Lucknow, Mrs. Pooja Lalchandani, who played a pivotal role in this endeavor, was also present during the inauguration. The books being distributed here were collected at her school.

This primary school serves as a beacon of education for approximately 230 students, hailing from various villages located within a 5-kilometer radius. These eager young minds, aged between 4 to 10 years, embark on their educational journey from Pre-1st standard, progressively advancing to the 5th standard.

This school significantly shapes the lives of these children, providing them not only with academic knowledge but also a profound sense of belonging to a community of learners. Our library, with its collection of 4,000 books, has transformed into a treasure trove of knowledge and imagination for these students. It offers a diverse array of reading materials, ranging from colorful picture books that spark the curiosity of the youngest learners to informative texts that bolster the academic growth of older students. The library at Government Primary School, Kurauni, has now evolved into a hub of exploration and learning, allowing children to delve into the world of literature and broaden their horizons. Witnessing the smiles and enthusiasm on the faces of these young readers as they explore the books vividly showcases the positive impact of our work on their educational journey.

However, the influence of our library extends beyond reading. This school has experienced a notable reduction in student absences since the library's establishment. Previously, many parents in the community held reservations about the value of education. Some believed that their children would be better off staying at home to assist with household chores or working in the fields to contribute to the family's income. Nonetheless, the presence of the library and the heightened emphasis on education have precipitated a positive transformation within the community. Parents now duly recognize the importance of education and the opportunities it can offer to their children. Witnessing individuals and organizations take the initiative to look after their children's education, they are exhibiting greater encouragement and more active involvement in their children's educational journeys. This increased support from parents and the community underscores the positive impact of our work, instilling confidence and hope for a brighter future.

The library at Government Primary School, Kurauni, not only enriches young minds with knowledge but also instigates a shift in attitudes toward education, enabling children and their families to aspire to a brighter future.
